Creamy Gold-Top milk from a local herd of free-range Jersey cows. This is milk how it used to taste – perfect on its own, in hot drinks and cereals or use to enhance any sweet or savoury recipe. Greyleys Jersey milk is full of flavour and is higher in protein, energy, calcium, vitamins and iodine than standard whole milk. The milk is not homogenised or standardised so the cream rises to the top. Give it a shake to mix back in or steal it for your cornflakes.

“The Shaw family have farmed in Elvington near York since 1876. Now in its fifth generation David Shaw runs the farm with his wife, Anne, daughter Helen and son in law Craig. The farm is home to 250 free-range Pedigree Jersey cows plus 160 youngstock and employs 6 people. We focus on high levels of animal welfare and environmental protection. Our dedicated farm team work very closely with our vets and consultants to ensure that the cows are always as healthy and happy as possible. All our animals are treated as individuals (many have nicknames as well as pedigree names) and they are all given the freedom to express individual natural behaviours and form social groups. During the summer months, the cows enjoy grazing in the paddocks around the farm. During winter, they are housed in large and airy straw yards with a large outside space where they have access to water, feed, loafing space and even a hairbrush. In wintertime, when they cannot go out to graze, the cows eat a mixture of home grown maize, barley and grass silage all of which grow well on the farm.
